President's Welcome

It is a great privilege to serve as President of our Club. Officially we are the Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club of Australia (NSW) Inc, but for a couple of years now, in an effort to be all inclusive, we are operating as the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Car Club NSW. We are one and the same, so don’t be confused when you see RR&BCCNSW.

The Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club was formed in 1956 and is the second oldest Rolls-Royce Club in the world. The Club had to put ‘Owners” in the name so that we weren’t thought to be part of the Rolls-Royce Company. Eventually, Clubs were established in all the states and the ACT. An umbrella federal body was formed and the Clubs were called ‘Branches’. However, all the ‘Branches’ are independently incorporated Clubs.

Our Club members come from all walks of life and all sectors of society. If your first thought is that members in the RRBCC-NSW could be a bit of a “stuffy lot”, then you are in for a bit of a shock. Our members are the most welcoming and open group of people you are ever likely to meet, they will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and a part of our family. We are all keen to join with fellow members in motoring runs, technical workshops and social events. We are an active Club and you will find something in our calendar of activities to suit all tastes and interests.

We welcome owners and enthusiasts of all models of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars. You do not need to own a Rolls-Royce or a Bentley to join our Club. In fact, we have many long serving members who do not own motor cars. However, many enthusiasts first join the Club before purchasing a car. Doing this is the way to learn about the marques before deciding on what model to choose for that first purchase. Our Drive and Be Driven Day is one such opportunity for members, potential members and just keen enthusiasts to experience driving or riding in a variety of our cars. You can meet and talk to owners or talk to our Technical Officer about Rolls-Royce and Bentley models.

So if you have an interest in Rolls-Royce or Bentley motor cars and would like to learn more about them, I invite you to contact us and come along to see what it’s all about.

Welcome to the world of Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

Regards,

Dr David Marshall-Martin, GSM, LM
President
